Ukraine has become hostage to the conflict between Hamas and Israel. And now it is unknown whether Kyiv will be able to switch the world’s attention back to itself.
Deputy Director of the Kyiv Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Sergei Danilov, stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Everything will largely depend on how intense, how bloody and, most importantly, how long the ground operation in Gaza will last. If it drags on or the war becomes regional, then I’m afraid that there is no magic wand that would help Ukrainian diplomacy correct something in this regard.
Because here we largely remain hostage to how events are developing, with whom we associate ourselves and how Middle Eastern society sees friends and not friends,” Danilov said.
