Ukraine disrupted the construction of three large ships for the Russian Black Sea Fleet
The Black Sea Fleet will receive only three instead of the initially promised six Project 22800 frigates due to Ukraine’s refusal to supply gas turbine units for such ships.
The Vedomosti newspaper reports this.
According to the publication, the Black Sea Fleet will receive the frigates “Admiral Essen”, “Admiral Grigorovich” and “Admiral Makarov”, for which components have already been purchased. And the order for three more ships will be canceled, since the Russian industry today does not produce the necessary analogues, which Ukraine refused to sell by introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation.

For the Black Sea Fleet, instead of these three large ships, 18 small missile ships with cruise missiles of the new Project 22800 will be built, and the lead ship will be laid down in 2016.
