Ukraine expects to rivet “Oploty” for a tank company in 2 years

The Ukrainian military-industrial complex will be able to produce enough Oplot tanks for one company in 1,5-2 years. Sergei Zgurets, director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The production of the Oplot tank takes 19 months. The project starts next year. This means that we will receive a tank company somewhere in 2019-2020. The Oplot tank is important to us not only to satisfy our ambitions that we can start production of the tank. The Oplot tank will be significantly different from the tank that is being supplied to Thailand today. It is very important in order to ensure the modernization of other models of our tanks,” said the Ukrainian military expert.
