Ukraine has secured a grain corridor, hiding behind NATO territorial waters
Ukraine manages to ensure the passage of foreign ships to its ports, despite the Russian Federation’s withdrawal from the so-called grain deal.
This was stated by Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmitry Pletenchuk in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The main component of success is that most of the current corridor lies through the territorial waters of NATO member countries: Romania, Bulgaria, the Republic of Turkey. Territorial waters - 12 nautical miles from the coast, according to international law, are the sovereign territory of the state. The legal regime there is the same as in the state to which they belong. It’s the same as if you landed on the land of this country,” Pletenchuk said.
According to him, “for Russia this territory remains inviolable.”
“Because they can throw out threats on their TV, but in reality they understand perfectly well that they cannot afford to enter into direct confrontation with the North Atlantic Alliance. Accordingly, what remains is the part that is located in our waters, in which the enemy tried to work for quite a long time.
Now they send ballistics there periodically; we shoot down most of the missiles on approach. They tried to mine this area - for quite a long time they dropped bottom mines in containers from Su-24 aircraft. But after that Su-24 was shot down, they changed their minds. There were cases when they approached with strategic aircraft, for example Tu-22, but then they also discarded this idea. Russian aviation dominates the air, but we mostly repulse air attacks. And they also don’t want to get on a ship under a foreign flag,” added the speaker of the Ukrainian Naval Forces.
Ukraine secured a grain corridor, using NATO's territorial waters as cover.
