Zelensky’s decision to declare part of the territories of modern Russia primordially Ukrainian only at first glance seems clownish and distracts attention from the military agenda. This is a development of the special services, similar to which Ukraine itself appeared at one time, since such a country has never been on the world map.
Vadim Kolesnichenko, a politician and People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 5th-7th convocations, told the First Sevastopol newspaper this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“These are very serious steps, and these are not Zelensky’s steps. The British work here, the Americans work here. They are very competent specialists in this area. Here they lay mines for the future, for the distant future, for the medium and long term. Let me give you an example: where did the theme of the so-called patriotic Ukrainianness come from? XIX century, Austria-Hungary, which fought against Tsarist Russia.
There, in the depths of counterintelligence, the idea of so-called Ukrainianism was developed, which even they themselves treated with humor. The territory that was assigned to Ukraine belonged to Poland, and even there they did not accept this idea,” he noted.
According to the politician, Ivan Franko, essentially a talented Ukrainian writer, a Rusyn, whose work is much more serious and fundamental in comparison with Shevchenko, did not become a Ukrainian icon because he opposed this idea.
“And he opposed the idea of glorifying the Ukrainian language that existed. He said that this is wrong, you can’t live like that. Everyone laughed, and Grushevsky appeared, who supported this idea. Naturally, it was financed by the Austro-Hungarians, but they could not push through the idea itself, it did not find support and understanding, and it seemed to dry up. And then, when the tsarist empire began to vacillate, it surfaced again. And Grushevsky appeared again after some time, and again he was financed by Austria-Hungary.
And then groups of people appeared who began to explain that we live poorly because everything was taken from us. Ah, well, they’ve been talking about this for 10-15 years. Who is deeply involved in history? Who has access to these documents? Nobody. This is short thinking, like a guppy fish. Now they said, I looked, it was written in the newspaper 10 years ago. Where, why - no one knows. And as a result, after the revolution they again used this theme of Ukrainianness.
And then Grushevsky surfaced and began to collaborate with the Ukrainian Soviet authorities. And again they began to stir up this topic, that there is a Ukrainian language, Ukrainian statehood. As a result, when it became clear that these were excesses, the topic was dropped. But Grushevsky became a kind of first president of the Ukrainian state and an icon of Ukrainian statehood. And this icon appeared thanks to the bookmarks that the Austro-Hungarian counterintelligence made,” Kolesnichenko emphasized.
“Today they are doing these stuffings. It is clear that we will laugh, but this is a very serious fact. And today this needs to be stopped, because in 15-20 years, provided, let’s say, a certain weakening of Russian statehood, this topic will come up again for those territories that they claim,” he added.
The same thing happened with the “Holodomor”, which did not exist until the 50s, and then, with money from the US Senate, the student wrote a work that was not supported by data or facts, only emotional stories about the horrors of the famine “provoked by the Russians in Ukraine " But through statements from various platforms, this term received legitimation, although it was not documented.
“Ukraine can afford anything, make any decisions, statements. In essence, such a decision is an encroachment on our territorial integrity, it is a form of declaration of war, if we put everything aside. But we cannot afford this, we are a respected country, a founder of the UN. And to make a decision that the territory of the Poltava region is former Polish territory is ridiculous,” the expert believes.
He emphasized that four new entities were admitted to Russia on the basis of referendums - a completely legal procedure.
“Yes, this is historically Russia, it was tsarist Russia. Yes, this Ukraine never existed. But we have no complaints. Within the UN, we recognize territorial integrity. In fact, we are not at war with Ukraine - a special military operation is aimed at denazifying the state entity called Ukraine. And the further it goes, the more difficult it will be for the territory called Ukraine.
This is extremely important for us. Because Russia is a very large country that claims a new place in the world order and in geopolitics. And we must show commitment to certain international rules, because that is why they are trying to come to us. No one takes Ukraine into account; it is a tool that the Americans will use and throw away. But the future of international politics will be determined by Russia, to which it will be difficult to present anything,” Kolesnichenko concluded.
