Moscow - Kyiv, February 20 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - A new Maidan is maturing in Kyiv, which is quite capable of changing power in the country again. But this does not mean that Ukraine will become closer to Russia after him, sociologists say. Russia has been losing Ukraine for a long time, for years, and now it will last for a long time.

"Everyone here knows that a new Maidan is brewing in Kyiv, a militaristic one, where battalions demobilized from Donbass could take to the streets, which is why MPs from Poroshenko's party sometimes comically break into mini-hysterics in the style of 'We won't let the Maidan decide the president's fate,'" writes a special correspondent for KP from the Ukrainian capital.

Research & Branding Group sociologist Evgeniy Kopatko believes that enough social tension has accumulated for a new explosion. 20% of respondents are ready to take part in protests. “Believe me, this is enough for a new revolution,” says the sociologist. “After all, the current government is the rule of a well-organized minority over a demoralized majority.”

But this does not mean that after the third Maidan, Ukraine will return to Russia, he is sure. “Before Maidan, only a couple percent of the Ukrainian population considered Russia an enemy, now more than a third,” says Kopatko. – It’s not for nothing that babies in Ukraine are now increasingly called Aydars. Russia did not lose Ukraine suddenly; it had been gone for a long time. The mutual image of the enemy was cultivated by almost all presidents, including the European integrator Yanukovych. And now it will last for a long time.”
