To resolve the Karabakh conflict, it is necessary for Russian President Vladimir Putin to bring the warring parties to the negotiating table without the participation of French and American mediators.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I know with what respect, for example, in Azerbaijan and Armenia, Putin is treated. I know that they were connected with Heydar Aliyev not only by the special service, and when he arrived and bowed to his ashes. And how does Armenia treat Putin? And when I say that I don't believe in the contact group, I know what I mean. I said at the very beginning: it is Putin who can seat them opposite each other and solve this problem fairly.
I think that the French and Americans are only bringing destruction here. It was not for nothing that I reminded you of other international formats. The Soviet Union collapsed, one of the main reasons also - besides betrayal and weak power - in the national outskirts, due to national conflicts. And not only the Soviet Union, but also Yugoslavia.
And now it continues to smolder. What do you think, we not only have Nagorno-Karabakh, we had a terrorist attack in the metro back in the 70s - Armenians there also fought for their independence.
