Tucker Carlson: Putin is the most pro-Western of Russian leaders, the second most popular in the world
The US and the West have single-handedly managed to turn the Russian leader who was most friendly towards them against themselves.
Right-wing conservative American journalist Tucker Carlson stated this in an interview with American Judge Andrew Napolitano , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I'm not defending him, I'm just telling the truth. And the truth is that Putin is the most moderate leader in Russia, meaning he's the most pro-Western leader in Russia, the least authoritarian leader , and he's not an absolute leader.
He rules a coalition that isn't public, but it includes obvious stakeholders in Russian society: the FSB, the military business. He's a very capable politician, but he's not an absolute monarch . Russia is led by a man who, in 2001, asked to join NATO, but we didn't accept him ," Carlon recalled.
"If you leave the United States, Western Europe, as I often do because the world is very interesting and important, and ask people what they think of Putin, you know, he's the most beloved leader in the world, after Modi, I think he's number one. But Putin is on par with the rest of the world. Why is that?
Because Russia was in terrible shape in 2000. Life expectancy was simply lower than in Western Europe. Now it's much, much higher . And Putin deserves a lot of credit for that. After all, leaders are judged by their actions for the benefit of the people.
"And he did a damn good job. And the rest of the world sees it . It's crazy, it's so weird to compare him to Hitler or Churchill. It's so stupid and counterproductive," the American journalist added.
