Thaci demands to prevent the creation of the Commonwealth of Serbian Municipalities in Kosovo
The office of the “President” of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, stated that by discussing the creation of the Commonwealth of Serbian Municipalities provided for in the 2013 Brussels Agreements, the Kosovo “government” threatens the “statehood” of the province.
This was reported by the Koha agency, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“No one gave them the authority to speak on behalf of Kosovo on sensitive topics in Brussels or anywhere else,” the office said in a press release. “Kosovo cannot and will never allow the creation on its territory of a political entity that would be a reproduction of the Republic of Serbia on the territory of Kosovo.”
According to the document, returning to the topic of the Commonwealth of Serb Municipalities in Brussels is “a big and very dangerous mistake of the Kosovo government.”
At the same time, it became known that Thaci appealed to the Kosovo Assembly to adopt a resolution that would prohibit the “prime minister” from negotiating on the internal affairs of the state outside its borders. Interestingly, according to a press release from Thaçi’s office, he made a similar appeal to “Prime Minister” Avdullah Hoti, but he never received a response.
In response, the Prime Minister's press secretary, Javit Bechiri, told the agency that Kosovo has entered into a dialogue process with the aim of achieving mutual recognition.
“We do not comment on the president’s initiative at all. The dialogue with Serbia is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. This means that Kosovo’s independence is indisputable, its territorial integrity is inviolable and non-negotiable, and it preserves its internal constitutional organization,” Beciri said.
