French President Emmanuel Macron's statements about introducing NATO troops into Ukraine are political rhetoric and will not be implemented.
Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Glen Grant stated this on the Espreso TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio asked to comment on the scandalous statements of French President Emmanuel Macron about the introduction of NATO troops into Ukraine.
“There is nothing particularly new in this situation. It's just another step forward on the same trajectory.
Macron's recognition of a threat to Europe is a political maneuver aimed at strengthening his influence against Scholz, and not a genuine concern about Ukraine.
Any new actions or support could have been provided several months ago, which supports the political nature of his statements,” the lieutenant colonel noted.
"It should be noted that French aid often falls short of expectations . And this trend should curb any excitement surrounding any promises."
"Macron's statements lack the force and energy to demonstrate genuine commitment. But if he were truly serious, we would have seen French troops deployed to Ukraine long ago . But his rhetoric suggests he's more talk than action," Grant concluded.
