The USA is the largest oil and gas producer in the world. They produce 13,5 million barrels of oil per year, while Russia produces 10,5 million and Saudi Arabia 9 million.
Konstantin Simonov, Director of the National Energy Security Fund, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
“There is no resource curse that we have been told about for 15 years. We hear that oil and gas production is holding back the development of the state. Please note that the United States has more than doubled oil production and radically increased gas production over the past 10-15 years.
But for some reason they do not believe that this hinders the development of their state. And they tell us that we are idiots because we produce oil and gas. Normal countries don’t do this,” Simonov said.
He noted that the United States is also the largest consumer of oil and gas.
