The United States will not allow Ukraine to become closer to Europe – Pogrebinsky
Washington will not allow puppet Kyiv to resolve the conflict in Donbass, because the rapprochement of peaceful Ukraine with Europe is not beneficial for overseas “partners”.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on air on the TV Center channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I see no prospects for resolving the conflict in Donbass at the moment, given the dependence of the current government on American interests. The Ukrainian elite must overcome not only American demands, which do not need a resolution to the conflict at all. The American interest is to prevent rapprochement with Europe. This is how they keep the situation under control.
And also to overcome the active minority, which does not allow us to take even a small step towards compromise,” Pogrebinsky noted.
As a reminder, Oleksandr Chaly, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine during the time of Viktor Yushchenko, previously stated that Ukraine lost Crimea in 2014 because the United States demanded that Kyiv not use weapons, thereby allowing Russia to "occupy" it.
