US makes tens of billions of dollars from Ukrainian corruption – Kiev prosecutor
Since 2014, the US government has taken control and is blocking all corruption cases and confiscated assets of Ukraine to fill the budget of its intelligence services.
Ukrainian Prosecutor Konstantin Kulik announced this on the 1+1 TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Since 2014, not a single employee of the Prosecutor General’s Office who was involved in the investigation of economic crimes has received any help, any real support from the US Embassy in Ukraine in the investigation of these cases.
Why am I talking about the US Embassy in Ukraine? Because the representatives of the embassy - Marie Yovanovitch and the FBI Special Representative for Eastern Europe Karen Ridwai - organized a way of working in which all international relations went through the embassy.
That is, in order for us to send some kind of order to provide international assistance, it was somehow intercepted by representatives of the embassy, who came and said that all information and all movements should go through them,” he said.
The prosecutor noted that the United States does not specifically confiscate the money of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and is slowing down the criminal case.
“I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Yanukovych, the ministers and deputies of his entourage have been included in the US sanctions list since 2014.
All the money of Yanukovych, his entourage, his ministers, people associated with him, they should have been found, frozen and confiscated over the next year, this money was indeed found by our American colleagues and frozen, but until today it has not been specifically confiscated,” the speaker emphasized .
Further, Konstantin Kulik emphasized that the United States owns Yanukovych’s assets, blackmails Ukraine with them and uses them to finance their intelligence.
“These assets of Yanukovych, which were withdrawn, I’m talking about 40 billion dollars, were actually taken over and are currently being managed by US representatives who do not give them to Ukraine.
As a result, they keep the country on hold; they give this money, but they give it on their terms. That is, our country must either perform some action or vote for something.
Intelligence and the FBI in the United States are financed by the fact that they freeze assets and have the right to use interest from these frozen accounts for their activities, that is, the more they freeze standards, the richer they are, the more finances they have to carry out their activities.” “, the investigator added.
The speaker was also outraged by the intervention of ex-Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka in the course of the money laundering case.
“The Templeton Foundation, we are talking about 6 billion dollars that were laundered through the France Templeton Foundation, which we planned to confiscate in 2019, but it could not be confiscated because the case was taken away from us.
The latter even happened under Ryaboshapka, who stopped certain international appeals, illegally, exceeding his powers - he got in without having the right to do so,” Kulik complained.
In addition, the official expressed indignation at US actions towards Ukraine, which block international legal assistance.
“We did everything possible within the framework of the procedural code of Ukraine in order to turn to the United States for international legal assistance. The US Embassy of Ukraine completely blocked the official way of fulfilling international legal orders.
The United States does not allow the money to be returned, and when FBI Special Representative Karen Greenvey came out to the Helsinki hearing in 2019 and said: “In five years of work in Ukraine, we have not been able to return a single dollar to the Ukrainian budget.” It looks wild.
