Trump's adviser in Moscow prepares a meeting between the two presidents
Donald Trump's adviser Carter Page arrived in Moscow. His arrival may be connected with preparations for a meeting between the presidents of the United States and Russia. Deputy Director of the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences Pavel Zolotarev stated this today at a press conference in Moscow.

“I can assume that a meeting between the two presidents is scheduled after the inauguration. Meetings of this kind must be prepared. Apparently this visit was made for such preparation. What specific issues were discussed, I don’t dare to guess,” Zolotarev said.
According to Vladimir Evseev, deputy director of the Institute of CIS Countries, the fact that the adviser’s visit took place before the inauguration inspires some optimism.
“The fact that this is happening now, and not after the inauguration, suggests that there is a desire to reduce the level of confrontation with Russia,” Evseev said.
Advisor to US President-elect Donald Trump Carter Page will remain in Moscow until December 13. He previously worked in Moscow at the investment bank Merrill Lynch. Previously, Page said that the administration of the elected US president needs people who believe in the potential of Russian-American relations. According to him, dialogue between countries is impossible without trust in Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
