Hundreds of cars are stuck on the border between Crimea and Ukraine
About 200 cars are “stuck” on the border of Crimea and Ukraine in the area of the Chongar checkpoint - the Ukrainian side has not allowed cars through since the morning due to the lack of light at the checkpoint after an accident on power lines.
Social activist Gennady Sivak reported this to PolitNavigator, citing data from eyewitnesses who provided details by phone.

“There has been no light on the Ukrainian side since the morning - power lines are down due to a 4-mm layer of ice. Now about two hundred cars are trapped on one side and the other of the Ukrainian checkpoint.
Nothing was prepared for an emergency - there were no heating points or the ability to charge phones. Not everyone has enough gasoline in their cars to warm themselves up - and by nightfall the frost is expected to get even worse. Some are in cars with children,” Sivak said.
