Citing coronavirus, Russian senators refused to travel to Minsk
Today the annual Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will begin in Minsk, but at the last moment it became known that Russian senators do not intend to come to the republic - the event will be held in an online format.
Izvestia writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At the same time, the first deputy chairman of the international committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Dzhabarov, explained to the publication that the cancellation of the trip is not related to the political situation in the country.
“Transferring to an online format will not affect the effectiveness of the event in any way - we are already accustomed to holding meetings via video link. Due to the rising incidence of coronavirus, we decided not to risk it. I do not rule out that among the topics that we will discuss with our Belarusian colleagues will be the political situation in Minsk and protests. This is not provided for in the plan, but conversations beyond the regulations are always possible,” Dzhabarov said.
