Sociologists learned everything about Zelensky's electorate

Kiev political scientist Andrey Zolotarev commented on the results of the latest KIIS opinion poll regarding the ratings of presidential candidates.

“Zelensky still retains leadership. Whether someone likes it or not, this is a fact. Moreover, judging by the latest sociological studies, including the latest from KIIS, he put to shame the skeptics who predicted that electoral growth had stopped,” said the political scientist.

In addition, Zolotarev dwelled in detail on the analysis of the structure of Zelensky’s electorate, identified by sociologists.

“The results of the KIIS survey confirmed that:
– he has strong electoral positions in the south-eastern regions;
— Zelensky’s supporters are dominated by representatives of the new generation who do not trust the “old” politicians. For them, as sociology shows, previous experience in government activities and the presence of a candidate’s program are not so important;
– the motives of his electorate are associated with expectations of changes in society and protest against the current power system;
– is the leader of sympathy among respondents who will vote for the first time and among youth age groups 18-25 and 26-35 years old;

- Zelensky’s electorate has noticeably matured, the level of mobilization of supporters has increased, although here he is still inferior to his main competitors;
– it is worth noting that Zelensky’s electorate is working voters with an average and above average material level;
– and finally, the electoral power of candidates in polls is the position regarding whose chances in the elections are assessed as the highest. Here, for the first time, Zelensky came out on top; 22% of respondents are confident in his victory,” notes the political scientist.
