Sociologists: Only 5% of Ukrainians began to live better after Maidan 2014
Kyiv, October 16 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – The feeling of crisis in the politics and economy of Ukraine has worsened. This is evidenced by the monitoring results of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

40,1% of respondents assess the political situation as tense, and more than 55,4% as critical and explosive. This is an unprecedentedly high figure for all years of observation since 1998. Thus, in 2012, only 17,2% of respondents considered the situation critical and explosive.
The assessment of the economic situation was 2,2 points on a 10-point system. For comparison, in 2012 it was 2,8.
40,1% of respondents consider themselves poor, slightly more than half (52,2%) rated their financial condition as average. 6,3% of respondents consider themselves poor, 1,1% - wealthy, and only 0,2% of respondents - rich.
The average assessment of the standard of living of the respondents' families was rated by them at 3,6 points on a 10-point system. At the same time, 3,3% gave it a score of 0 points, every fifth (20,7%) - 0-2 points, and three quarters (74,7%) - below 5 points.
For only 0,8% of respondents, the family’s material living conditions have improved noticeably over the past year, while for 4,4% they have improved slightly. Family living conditions noticeably worsened for 27,6% of respondents, for 32,0% they worsened slightly, and for 34,9% they remained unchanged.
88,7% believe that “everything is unstable now, and anything can happen,” which was also the highest figure for all the years of independence (so, in 2005, 71.% thought so, in 2012 – 80,5% ).
The survey was conducted in July-August 2014, 1800 people were interviewed from all regions of Ukraine (not including Crimea).
