The sociologist said whether Poroshenko has a chance in the second round
In the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine, which will be held on April 21, the current head of state, Petro Poroshenko, is highly likely to lose to comedian Vladimir Zelensky.
Director General of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) Vladimir Paniotto spoke about this in an interview with the Kiev online publication “Apostrophe”.

He commented on recent data from the social group “Rating”, according to which Zelensky will receive 71% of the votes in the second round.
“I think we should expect slightly lower results from Zelensky. Because he expresses himself one way or another, and this leads to a decrease in his rating. But if no radical events occur that can lead to drastic changes, then I don’t see much chance of Poroshenko winning. He can hardly change the situation,” Paniotto said.
He also said that KIIS conducted research after the first round on how the electorate of all other candidates would vote in the future.
“Almost all voters of Yuriy Boyko and Oleksandr Vilkul will vote for Zelensky. Only 10% of Yulia Tymoshenko’s electorate planned to vote for Poroshenko, approximately 40% for Zelensky, others will not come. Gritsenko’s electorate can give Poroshenko votes – this is almost 30% of Anatoly Stepanovich’s voters. But just as many will vote for Zelensky. And half of Igor Smeshko’s supporters will also vote for the current president. That’s all he can count on,” the sociologist noted.
