NSDC of Ukraine: The West broke its promises to Ukraine

The West saved hundreds of billions of dollars by depriving Ukraine of nuclear weapons, so today it has an obligation to help it.

Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov announced this at the Yalta European Strategy forum, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Danilov accused the West of not fulfilling the security guarantees it gave Ukraine in exchange for giving up nuclear weapons.

“I want to say that when there are false accusations that they are helping us, I want to remind you that in 94 they took away our nuclear weapons for free and promised us that there would never be an attack on our country. I want to say that at that time, tens, hundreds of billions of dollars of the country, we understand what we are talking about, saved.

If you saved, it means you earned money when all this was happening. And it definitely wasn’t us. But we were given guarantees, these guarantees do not work today,” Danilov said.
