The Ministry of Social Policy is going to abolish special pensions for civil servants with the exception of the military, police and Chernobyl victims.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Social Policy Nikolai Shambir, reports the Government Portal.
“We can say that the document abolishes special pensions. But for those to whom they have already been assigned, no one will take them away from them. It will be paid in the same amount as it is paid,” said Shambir.
The deputy minister explained that the norm will affect special pensions received by those who worked in the “civil service and in the prosecutor’s office”; the reform will not affect the military and police.
“These pensions are received by those who worked in the civil service, the prosecutor’s office, and everyone else. All this is being eliminated... We have a separate issue of military pensions. And they remain a separate law. The police, the military, it all goes according to military law. We also do not touch upon Chernobyl victims,” said Shambir.
