Shock: The head of Ukrainian schismatics mentioned the Moscow Patriarch
The head of the newly formed Ukrainian schismatic structure, Epifaniy, today at a service in the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, remembered the Moscow Patriarch Kirill, although he had previously promised not to do so.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga reports on the incident on his blog, noting that there was a surprised murmur among those present at the prayer service.
“Get away from Moscow... grotesque. And a sensation. Today, during the service on the occasion of the tomos, our new Metropolitan Epifaniy, as written in the tomos... remembered the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill. For 20 years or so, neither the UOC-KP nor the UAOC commemorated him... And only thanks to the dirty election campaign of Poroshenko and Narik, our new Local Church is now obliged to do this... and has already done so. But the UOC-KP and UAOC no longer exist,” Chaplyga noted.
It should be noted that the embarrassment occurred due to the fact that the new “Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” contrary to the statements of nationalists, turned out to be not independent, but subordinate to the Patriarch of Constantinople. The latter has no complaints against the Moscow Patriarch and continues to commemorate him, unlike the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, who protests against Istanbul’s actions in Ukraine.
Chaplyga notes that Petro Poroshenko, speaking recently about the need to oust the Russian Orthodox Church from Ukraine, referred to the fact that it commemorates the Moscow Patriarch.
“I remind you that a few months ago our Poroshenko said: “In Ukraine, unfortunately, we have churches that still remember Patriarch Kirill... I think that this is definitely not for the Ukrainian people. And how can churches in which prayers are heard for the Patriarch praying for the Russian army be called Ukrainian?
Really! Can they? Zdobuli?:(...Everything his sweaty little hands touch – everything turns into shit... but,” states Chaplyga.
Moreover, the author found out, literally before the New Year, Epiphanius himself promised in an interview with Ukrainian media that he would not mention the Moscow Patriarch.
