“What is this?” – Venediktov claims that Lukashenko forced the Kremlin to use the language
The Kremlin was surprised by Alexander Lukashenko's initiative to transfer part of the presidential powers to the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, which, it is believed, he intends to head.
Its editor-in-chief Alexey Venediktov stated this on the air of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy.
“I know that in Moscow they were surprised with the words “what is this?” Actually, this is the first time we’ve heard it... I think he’s still testing his reaction. But he doesn't want a parliamentary republic, he doesn't want to be prime minister. Well, you have to dig through poop: somewhere there’s a burst sewer, somewhere there’s a shortage of food, somewhere there’s degeneration...” said Venediktov.
Let us recall that earlier both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have repeatedly stated that they see a constitutional reform that will consolidate the redistribution of power by resolving the political crisis in Belarus.
In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko has made a number of statements in recent months, promising new elections in which he will not run himself and promote a successor. Lukashenko also said that he would not use the “Kazakh option” of moving to a new position specially created for him, but would simply leave.
