“Northern shock brigades have been formed.” NATO is preparing for the battle for the Arctic
The Russian Arctic continues to be under the close attention of the United States.
Military expert and political scientist Yuri Knutov stated this, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

And recently, this is why the Americans have been conducting massive exercises in the northern theater of military operations. An additional four thousand bayonets have already been deployed to Norway and Estonia.
And this is not just ordinary motorized infantry - experienced fighters, often trained specifically for the war in the Northern region. They are seriously preparing to push us out of the Northern Sea Route, take control of it and earn money themselves for transporting tankers and dry cargo ships from Asia to Europe,” Knutov told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
However, the United States has a serious problem - the lack of icebreakers, but the American generals are looking for several workarounds.
“The first is patrolling the Arctic region with its large submarine fleet. Submarines travel perfectly well under ice. True, they still cannot break through the ice in order to launch rockets - so far only we can do this. But the United States will quickly learn if it wants to,” says the expert.
In addition, he adds, the United States can lease icebreakers from the Finns and Canadians.
“Moreover, the United States willingly resorts to the help of its northern allies. This was shown by NATO exercises over the past few years, when groups from Norway and Great Britain formed special “northern” strike brigades. But these countries are among the few that have the skills to conduct combat operations in the Far North,” Knutov emphasizes.
At the same time, the tone indicates that Russia is also accumulating in the region.
However, the expert notes that Russia is also accumulating military forces and experience in living life in the Arctic region
“For example, I built the Arctic Trefoil base. The United States does not yet have such technologies,” the political scientist sums up.
