Former vice-governor of Sevastopol, vice-rector of Sevastopol State University Ivan Kusov will head the Ministry of Science and Education of the Lugansk People's Republic.

Kusov spoke about his appointment at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the finalists of the “Leaders of Russia” competition.
“It is customary for leaders to set a personal example, and I had such an opportunity. Leonid Pasechnik (head of the LPR) offered to join the government team of the Lugansk People’s Republic, I gladly agreed and am leaving tomorrow,” Kusov said.
The President of Russia wished him success and assured that the state will help restore the material and technical base of education in the Luhansk region, so that all talented people have the opportunity to study in their homeland.
