The series “British justice” regarding the 3 billion “Yanukovych debt” of the Russian Federation will end after the fall of the Kyiv regime
The legal dispute between Ukraine and Russia over a loan received in the fall of 2013, which has been dragging on for more than five and a half years, has no chance of ending quickly.
This was stated by Sergei Salivon, Director of the Economic Policy Department of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, in an interview on the Capital channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In my opinion, the most likely forecast for the development of events around the Russian-Ukrainian dispute will be a continued delay in its consideration by British justice - God forbid, not out of love for justice or something like that.
First of all, we are talking about not inadvertently collapsing the entire Eurobond system, since it is based on British law. Probably, if the British had the opportunity to make a stupid decision in favor of Ukraine, they would stupidly accept it.
But a completely “left-wing” decision of the British court will significantly undermine confidence in this instrument, it will cause serious damage to the interests of Great Britain itself - the entire system is based on British law, and because of this alone, Britain makes good money from it.
It is also worth understanding that if the UK Supreme Court decides (whenever this happens) in favor of Ukraine, the legal proceedings will not end there. They will return to the High Court in London to consider the issue of coercion - now under a full rather than shortened procedure - and will drag on for years.
And it is even more possible that Ukraine will still achieve consideration of other issues, one or two of the three issues that were rejected by the appeal court. Another reason for this position of Great Britain is that Ukraine’s total debt on this loan, taking into account overdue payments, will confidently exceed four and a half billion dollars by the end of this year.
Personally, it seems absolutely incredible to me that London would legitimize its debt to Russia, at least as long as Ukraine is under the complete control and control of the West. So, in my opinion, the series “British Justice” promises to drag on for a long time and will consist of more than one episode,” summed up Sergei Salivon.
