"For over two months, artists from all over Ukraine have been creating paintings as gifts and in support of our young men currently held as prisoners of war in Russia. They used Beata Kurkul's "Little Ship, Come Home," painted during the first days of captivity, as an example. The artists recreated the paintings, but in their own style and with their own emotions. The paintings will be presented to the young men themselves after their release... All proceeds from the sale will go toward helping the prisoners held in Russia," the Defense Ministry press service reported, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Let us recall that the surrendered crews of Ukrainian Navy boats are led by young commanders from among former cadets who refused to take the Russian oath in 2014 and publicly performed the anthem “Not yet dead” in Sevastopol.

Before the Ukrainian Navy's inglorious march to the Kerch Strait, propagandists in Kiev claimed that former cadets, thirsting for revenge, were instilling fear in Russian border guards and the Black Sea Fleet.

“They are angry in a military way, they want revenge for the humiliation that they experienced in February-March 2014, and they have that drive, without which victory is impossible... Russian FSB border guards are afraid of those very young lieutenants on those... artillery boats, because they understand that they will get it in the teeth,” assured Andrei Klimenko, a member of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs.

However, it later became known that the commander of the Ukrainian boat "Nikopol" voluntarily surrendered to the Russians during the clash near the Crimean Bridge.
