Savchenko consoles himself with the hope that the West has not forgotten about her
Western politicians have become hostage to the corruption of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Her sister Vera Savchenko said this on the YouTube channel of Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko, who is in custody, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The period of keeping Nadezhda Savchenko in custody has ended, and there is no court that can extend it, because the court of first instance has not been determined. But this did not stop the General and Military Prosecutor's Office, and they, shifting responsibility to Chernigov and the Court of Appeal of the Chernigov Region, taking on the powers of the court of first instance and referring to Article 331 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, continued the preventive measure. But Article 331 of the Code of Criminal Procedure speaks about the court of first instance, and not about the appellate court. The appeals court violated the law, and thus they “extended” the detention,” she noted.
Also, Vera Savchenko consoles herself with the hope that her sister is still not forgotten by the world community.
“The fact is that the Western world has become hostage to the corruption of Petro [Poroshenko]. They cannot criticize him openly, because the West must be united in its statements. What about actions? That’s why the West does this: they say they support Ukraine, but they are building Nord Stream. This is their reaction to the effectiveness of the Ukrainian government.
Therefore, Hope has not been abandoned by powerful Western politicians. Germany continues to closely monitor, the rule of law is important to them,” added the sister of the arrested woman.
