About this he stated in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
“Our goal is to change the Ukrainian political class. When President Poroshenko offered me to become prime minister, I said that I have much higher ambitions than the prime minister. Someone asked if I wanted to become president? I said even higher. I want to completely change the rules of the political game. I want to completely change the political class and I want to be part of this process,” he said.
He again confirmed that he plans to seek re-election to the Verkhovna Rada and expressed confidence that he will win it.
“Once we have a majority and a strong majority, we can pass any laws. We will be able to override a presidential veto. And we will be able to announce impeachment,” Saakashvili said.
At the same time, he clarified that he is not threatening Poroshenko with impeachment. According to him, this will be a political tool that he plans to use if he needs to “get rid of some obstacles.”
Let us recall that Saakashvili announced the creation of his own political organization called “Rukh of New Forces”.
