Kolomoisky’s mouthpiece showed how Akhmetov “rules” the Opposition Bloc in the Rada
As part of the ongoing war between Igor Kolomoisky’s influence group and Petro Poroshenko’s entourage, the media published correspondence that testifies to the direct influence of Rinat Akhmetov on the leadership of the Opposition Bloc.

The correspondence was published by 1+1 channel journalist Alexander Dubinsky, who is considered close to the Privat group, on his personal website.
“During a parliamentary meeting, our camera recorded a very interesting correspondence between people’s deputy from the Opposition Bloc Yuriy Voropaev and the director of the Akhmetov-based company DTEK on legal issues, Alexey Zakharchuk. The correspondence indicates that the chief lawyer of DTEK is overseeing the actions of the Opposition Bloc in parliament. At least in energy matters. And in these matters, the Opposition Bloc not only plays along with Akhmetov, but also supports Poroshenko,” says a publication on Dubinsky’s website.

We are talking about the scandal surrounding the appointment of the personnel of the regulatory body in the electric power industry - NERC.
“On November 26, as a result of Poroshenko’s manipulation of the deadlines for the appointment of members of the commission for the selection of NERC members and the failure of the selection deadline, several current members of the commission lost their powers. Which led to the incapacity of the commission and the inability to make decisions. To resolve this problem, people's deputies Lev Pidlisetsky and Oksana Prodan introduced bill 7359 to the Rada, in which they proposed that in the event of the loss of NERC quorum (termination of powers of four or more members), the decisions taken would continue to be valid until the relevant orders of the new authorized regulator.
However, such a decision blocked for Akhmetov and Poroshenko, who is considered the beneficiary of his energy superprofits, the opportunity to carry out another increase in electricity tariffs and distribute the proceeds from this increase in favor of thermal power plants (DTEK Akhmetov).
Instead, deputies loyal to Akhmetov-Poroshenko Alexander Dombrovsky (BPP), Mikhail Bondar (People's Front) and Yuliy Ioffe (Opposition Bloc) introduced another bill, 7342-1, which proposed that the president fill vacant positions in the National Energy and Regulatory Commission, until appointment of a new composition (new members) of the commission, independently.
A three-month period of “anarchy”, with tame members - allows Poroshenko to increase tariffs for electricity produced by Akhmetov’s thermal power plants by 25% (which means a 15% increase in tariffs for the consumer) - by law, 10 days before the end of the year, NEURK must establish wholesale prices for electricity for the whole of 2018,” explains the journalist.
According to Dubinsky, this increase in tariffs will bring Akhmetov an additional 10 billion hryvnia. “Therefore, it was extremely important for him to prevent the adoption of a law that would freeze tariff increases until new, authorized NERC members are appointed. To do this, he gives the command to deputies not to support the inconvenient draft law,” the author summarizes.
“And it turns out that the voices of the Opposition Bloc faction on the issue of adopting energy-important laws for Akhmetov are not even conducted by him himself, but by ordinary managers of DTEK,” he adds.
