Russia is losing Belarusian youth
The Russian information machine does not work with Belarusian youth to attract their sympathy to its side. At the same time, a lot of Western foundations work with the population of Belarus, promoting “European values.”
Political scientist and senior researcher at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Marchukov stated this in a commentary to Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, Russia should not justify the President of Belarus, but should pay more attention to attracting Belarusian youth.
“In Poland and Lithuania, dozens of non-governmental foundations work with the mood and minds of Belarusian youth, promoting the European lifestyle. We don’t have such centers even for Ukraine. We must promote the idea that it is more profitable to live with Russia than with the West. But our propagandists spend all their energy only on stories that Lukashenko is not as bad as the West makes him out to be. Instead of convincing us how good we are,” Marchukov notes.
At the same time, the publication’s journalist said that based on the results of communication with Belarusian youth, he concluded that he was looking more towards the West, rather than Russia.
