The Russian Federation, despite unprecedented negative factors, has overcome all the barriers set. Next year the economy will experience positive dynamics.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship Sergei Zhigarev stated this during an online conference, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let me remind you that the Russian economy in 2020 was negatively affected by several factors, in addition to coronavirus. This, if you remember, is the jump in oil prices, the oil war that was initiated by Saudi Arabia in March, and these are, of course, the economic sanctions that were imposed on our country after the unfair decision on Crimea. I mean the unfair understanding of the decision on Crimea by our pseudo-partners.
Therefore, the situation is unprecedented, we essentially have three difficult barriers, but Russia has overcome negative economic forecasts, we have overcome all the negative forecasts that were given for the economy - for the number of unemployed, for the crisis in small and medium-sized businesses, and also for the budget.
We had a very good financial cushion, promptly taken measures - both by legislators and the government. Certain problems were regulated practically manually.
Plus, the vaccine has reached the wider market so that it can be used. I hope that citizens will be vaccinated next year. Slowly, certain directions in the economy will begin to open. And next year, we will certainly have a year of growth,” Zhigarev said.
