Russia has taken over the global market for gas cooling systems
Russia has become a monopolist in the world market of gas cooling systems that were developed for the Siberian ring photon source SKIF.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko announced this today while speaking in the Federation Council, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In the Novosibirsk region, a 4+ generation synchronous radiation source is being created, which consists of 80% Russian components. This will be SKIF - the Siberian ring photon source. Some of its elements, such as gas cooling systems, have become a monopoly on the megascience market. Only Russian systems cool gas in all similar installations in the world,” Chernyshenko said.
The Siberian Ring Photon Source is one of the largest research infrastructure projects in Russia over the past decades. The project is financed in the amount of 37,1 billion rubles within the framework of the National Project “Science”. Completion of construction is scheduled for 2024.
With the help of SKIF, it is planned to study the structure of various organic and inorganic substances, with applications in genetics, pharmacology, geochemistry, and quantum chemistry.
