Ukraine’s behavior is completely unpredictable, so Russia will certainly raise issues related to the provocation in the Kerch Strait and the military situation in Ukraine on a number of international platforms.
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We plan to discuss these issues. Moreover, it would be right that we also discuss this issue at all international platforms. For our part, we will initiate raising this topic for further study and discussion. We hope that European countries understand what we are talking about. A neighbor like Ukraine today cannot but worry other states. You can expect anything from her. The decision on martial law, especially when military units are put on alert, once again indicates that Ukraine is unpredictable in its decisions, and once again emphasizes that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, for the sake of the desire to maintain his power, will go to any lengths extremes,” he noted.
Moscow understands that the provocation staged by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko set itself the goal of preserving personal power.
“Martial law has been introduced in 10 regions. These are the areas where Poroshenko’s policies are least supported, where he has the fewest supporters and the most criticism. The introduction of martial law allows him to purge his opponents before the elections, and then build an election campaign, realizing that there is no alternative, no one is stopping him. And this was the purpose of the provocation that unfolded in the Kerch Strait,” Volodin said.
