The general director of the state company Rosgostsirk, Vadim Gagloev, told Navigator about this.
According to him, the construction of two facilities is planned - in Sevastopol and Yalta. The first is considered more cost-effective.
“Sevastopol, unlike Yalta, is a large city with a high population density, so the circus tent here can operate year-round,” Gagloev said.
According to him, there is a preliminary agreement with the city leadership, but the land plot has not yet been allocated. It is assumed that the semi-stationary circus tent will be designed for 1500 seats and will be able to accommodate all groups included in the “conveyor” of the Russian State Circus.
“We have only about 40 teams located in different cities of Russia. These are 2000 artists and 1500 animals. All sites are absolutely accessible to teams (including private ones) working in our “conveyor”. So, for example, we cooperate with the Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, the Zapashny Brothers Circus, and so on. Foreign companies also contact us. Negotiations are underway with the UK, China, and Belarus. The circus has its own specifics. The more programs replace each other, the more interesting it is for the viewer,” Gagloev explained.
The director of the Russian State Circus also said that the construction of the tent itself and the corresponding infrastructure will be fully provided at the expense of the company’s internal reserves. It is not expected to attract government subsidies.
