Raid on the market: Kerch began to get rid of illegal migrants
A raid carried out on the Kerch market gave law enforcement officers five illegal labor migrants, four of whom are subject to deportation from the Russian Federation.
Three arrived from Central Asia, two from Azerbaijan, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The raid on the market was carried out by employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, together with the regional department of the FSB and with the force support of the Russian Guard.
“On the territory of the wholesale and retail market in Kerch, foreign citizens were identified who were illegally staying on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as persons carrying out labor activities without patent permits,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Central Asians were found at work in one of the market cafes. All three violated the terms of stay on the territory of the Russian Federation. Men aged 43, 48 and 52 are subject to deportation.
Two more migrant workers working without a patent were detained behind trade counters. A 33-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan is subject to deportation, his 24-year-old compatriot is fined 2 thousand rubles.
The day before, Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov signed a decree banning the use of migrant labor in certain industries. This included retail and food service. Although six months have been allocated to replace the migrants, police have begun raids on areas where foreign labor is actively used.
