“V. Putin drew attention to the fact that the will of the population of the peninsula is implemented in full accordance with the norms of international law, in particular with Article 1 of the UN Charter, which enshrines the principle of equality and self-determination of peoples. It was emphasized that Russia will respect the choice of the residents of Crimea,” the statement said.
The head of the Russian Federation again expressed concern about the escalation of tension in the South-East of Ukraine by radical groups with the connivance of the Kyiv authorities.
