Donetsk, May 11 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Today’s referendum in Donbass is the first step towards the creation of New Russia, said the “people’s governor” of the Donetsk region Pavel Gubarev.

“This subjectivity is only the first stage of our big Novorossiya - the former South-Eastern Ukraine... We are boldly and confidently moving towards our unconditional victory,” he told reporters at a briefing in Slavyansk.
Gubarev did not specify whether Donbass could then become part of Russia. “It’s too early to comment on this topic,” the activist said.
