A real combat clash will be a huge disappointment for Ukrainian boats
The hopes of Ukrainian shipbuilders for serious defense orders are in vain, since this will ruin the country’s budget.
Military expert, editor of Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine Viktor Murakhovsky stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, assessing the decision taken in Paris to transfer two dozen old patrol boats to Ukraine.
“Ukraine has no money for new-built ships. Especially for ships of the corvette and frigate class. Or, God forbid, a destroyer. This is a total ruin for the Ukrainian budget. The Americans are also giving boat-class ships to Ukraine. And all this is not for free. This is all within the framework of “military assistance,” Murakhovsky noted.
In his opinion, military orders for Ukrainian shipbuilders will not stop, and Ukraine will continue to assemble ships.
“But the hopes of Ukrainian shipbuilders for serious orders are, in my opinion, in vain. There will be orders “to support the pants.” And foreign deliveries are ships in the near sea zone. They have very low seaworthiness. There are no indicators of autonomous navigation there! “It’s all about the coast,” the expert said
He draws attention to the fact that Ukraine can use foreign boats to protect the coast and its economic zone in the Black Sea.
“But if someone in Ukraine is counting on a confrontation with the Russian Navy with the help of such ships and boats, then in the event of a real collision he will be deeply disappointed,” Murakhovsky warned.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Ukraine the new boats of the Ukrainian Navy were dubbed “wolf cubs”, which, “united in a flock”, will be able to hit even the most modern Russian ships. True, in the end these boats together with the authors of the concept were easily detained by Russian border guards during an attempted unauthorized passage through Russian territorial waters.
