Scout: Ukraine is preparing an escalation in Crimea for the summer
Residents of Crimea who have Russian passports but participate in the ATO on the side of Ukraine pose a serious danger.
Admiral Vladimir Solovyov, former head of Black Sea Fleet intelligence, told PolitNavigator this while commenting on security forces' reports of the discovery of a weapons cache on Ai-Petri and the initiation of criminal prosecution of a member of an illegal Mejlis armed group.
“We need to be vigilant and carefully look at those people who are returning. Some kind of pumping occurred. So you won’t immediately understand whether he sympathizes with us or not. And the caches have been in Crimea for a long time, we just don’t know where they are,” Solovyov said.
“The closer summer gets, the opening of the bridge, the inauguration, something will escalate. Ukraine has not calmed down, but is trying to consolidate the West so as not to recognize these elections. Maybe throw in some more dirty tricks. Is it dangerous. The special services must work,” the expert added.
At the same time, the intelligence officer warned against total suspicion.
“We have a large family of Crimean Tatars. Everyone cannot be considered a potential terrorist or collaborator of the West. It is necessary for the Tatars themselves to understand themselves. To do this, we need to create organizations among them that would be acceptable to our lives and would deny what is now being done in Ukraine. Now such organizations are small in number and not very active. Crimean Tatars are not sold for money,” Solovyov said.
