Putin supported the reforms of Minister Vasilyeva
School should not only provide knowledge, but also educate a moral person. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this in his message to the Federal Assembly.
Thus, the president supported the Minister of Education Olga Vasilyeva, who constantly talks about this, whose appointment was negatively perceived by Russian liberals.

“Of course, it is important to preserve the depth and fundamental nature of domestic education. Essay writing has already returned to school, and more attention has been paid to humanities subjects. Schoolchildren must learn to think independently, work individually and in a team, and solve non-standard problems,” Putin said.
Let us remember that it was Vasilyeva who insisted that Russian schoolchildren receive grades for essays, not tests.
Putin also called for caution in conducting experiments in schools. This can also be regarded as support for Vasilyeva, who called for “sweeping away everything superfluous” from the system of the unified state exam, introduced by his predecessor Dmitry Livanov according to the Western model, and returning to the traditions of domestic education.
