“Putin is not going to concede”: Stoltenberg drew conclusions from the message of the President of the Russian Federation
Russia is mobilizing, launching an offensive and preparing to continue the war in Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a briefing in Brussels, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“A year after the start of the war, we do not see that President Putin is preparing for peace. On the contrary, as he made clear today, he is preparing for further war. Russia is launching new offensives, mobilizing troops and reaching out to North Korea and Iran,” Stoltenberg said.
He did not ignore China in his speech either.
“We are increasingly concerned that China plans to provide lethal weapons to support Russia's war. Putin should not win, it would show that aggression works and force is rewarded. This would be dangerous for our security and the whole world,” said the NATO Secretary General.
He called for continued support for Ukraine.
“We must give Ukraine what it needs to win,” Stoltenberg said.
The speaker welcomed the intention to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with heavy tanks and offensive weapons and called for “urgent fulfillment of all these promises.”
In addition, the NATO Secretary General promised that the alliance, together with the EU, would increase the production of ammunition to provide it to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that after the end of the war, according to Stoltenberg, Ukraine should become a member of NATO.
