“The European Union lost 240 billion dollars, the USA - 17 billion dollars (we have a small trade turnover with them), Japan - 27 billion dollars. This is affecting jobs in these countries, they are losing our market. This is reflected in entire sectors of the economy,” Putin said.

He believes that if Russia agrees to Western conditions for the sake of lifting sanctions, nothing fundamentally will change in its fate.

“If we completely give up and betray our national interests, maybe there will be some external signals. But nothing will change radically. The People's Republic of China has no relation to Crimea and Donbass, and tariffs on its goods (these are the same sanctions) are increasing and increasing. The same thing is happening in relation to Russia and will continue to happen. Therefore, if we want to take our rightful place in the sun, we must become stronger, first of all, in the economic sphere,” Putin concluded.
