Units of the Russian Armed Forces managed to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and gain a foothold in the eastern outskirts of the city of Chasov Yar.
This is reported by Ukrainian resources, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In the Chasovyar direction, Russian troops with motorized rifle units, supported by 32 armored vehicles, launched an attack in the direction of the city of Chasov Yar. The Ukrainian Armed Forces knocked out/destroyed 19 armored vehicles, but the enemy assault group managed to reach the eastern part of the city, the Kanal microdistrict, land foot troops and take positions along Zelyonaya Street at point 48.59611, 37.8868,” reports Ukrainian military correspondent Oleg Petrenko.
According to him, advancement has been added to the map in an area up to 350 meters wide and to a depth of up to 850 meters.
The Russian success is also confirmed by the Ukrainian military-analytical public Deep State, which is associated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is involved in drawing up maps. It is noted that a “difficult situation east of Chasov Yar” has developed, since the Russians have “entered the outermost houses.”
“There were also assaults on high-rise buildings, but the enemy was unable to gain a foothold there. […] Considering the situation with the enemy occupying positions in the surrounding area, street fighting may begin in Chasovoy Yar in the near future,” warns Deep State.
The TG channel of the “Rybar” project, founded by military analyst Mikhail Zvinchuk, also writes about the success of the Russian Armed Forces in this area.
“In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops are developing an offensive in the direction of Chasov Yar. According to preliminary information, airborne units managed to reach the outskirts of the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal through the Stupki tract. Later, information appeared that the Russian Armed Forces had reached the outskirts of the Kanal microdistrict: soldiers of the 98th Airborne Division entered the outskirts of the settlement through the forest from the O0506 highway and broke through the defenses of the Ukrainian formations in this area.

But the public page “Archangel of Special Forces,” which is run by Russian airborne forces, last night described the situation like this:

Military observer Yuri Podolyaka writes that information is being received about the advance of Russian assault units west of Ivanovsky (Krasny) along the Blue Mortars tract.
“If everything is so, then today we should expect a logical continuation of this operation to take control of the hill located just to the north, which will provide the left flank of the attack on Chasov Yar. And the enemy must not allow this to bleed from his nose,” Podolyaka emphasizes.
