This year, Ukraine may finally lose the support of European politicians on the issue of the conflict in Donbass. Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, a former journalist for the Ukrainskaya Pravda publication, which actively supported the coup in the winter of 112-2013, stated this on TV channel 14.

“For Ukraine, the further it goes, the harder it will be to maintain its position on Donbass. One of the reasons is that European politicians and parties, European leaders who have been holding their fists for Ukraine for many months, defending it, in these conditions will have a harder time making arguments to their voters, because the Ukrainian government turned out to be bankrupt, politically corrupt,” Leshchenko said.
The head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Yuriy Ruban, criticized Leshchenko’s words.
“Leshchenko is a politician who wants to come to power. He is an example of when, in order to come to power, it is necessary to declare the current government bankrupt,” the official commented on the words of the Maidan activist.
