Forecast: The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be ready for a counter-offensive in 30 - 45 days
The next counter-offensive of Ukrainian armed forces will take place in a month or two.
A former special forces officer and director of the Modern Warfare Institute at West Point, Liam Collins, writes about this in The Conversation, as reported by PolitNavigator correspondent.

He wonders why it took Ukraine six months to launch a counteroffensive.
“One reason is that Ukraine had to wait several months for promised Western aid to arrive at its bases. In my opinion, a significant factor is the long time required to plan large counter-offensives and position supplies, equipment and forces.
The fact that Ukraine carried out counterattacks in sequence, one after another, suggests that Ukraine lacks the combat power to conduct two large-scale counterattacks simultaneously,” Collins said.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will need time to regroup, re-equip and plan their next large-scale operation.
“Thus, it seems reasonable that Ukraine will have to wait at least 30 to 45 days, if not more, before it is ready for the next counteroffensive, which will occur in the dead of winter,” the author writes.
He adds that carrying out an attack in winter can be difficult, but emphasizes that off-road driving may become completely impossible in spring.
“It seems reasonable to conclude that Ukraine may want to launch its next counteroffensive while the ground is still frozen and Russian troop morale is at its lowest point since the invasion,” Collins predicts.
