“We’ll have to retreat further”: Ukrainian colonel about the loss of the Avdiivka industrial zone
If the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to drive Russian troops out of the Avdeevka industrial zone in the near future, then the situation for Kyiv will seriously worsen.
Retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“If the enemy gains a foothold in the industrial area and is not knocked out within a day or two, then this will be a real complication of the tactical situation for us. If there is a counterattack now and he is knocked out or pushed back, then this will be the solution to many problems,” the colonel said.
“If they gain a foothold, this will be a real complication of the situation and the command will have to rearrange its defensive lines in order to solve problems. Because this fortified area itself was the most serious. If they pushed through it and broke through, again, went underground, then it is unknown what they will start digging next,” Starikov said.
