“More profitable than drug trafficking” – antiseptics are sold to Ukrainians at prices that are 20 times higher
Ukrspirt produces fairly cheap raw materials for antiseptics, but they are sold in pharmacies at high prices, and the state is doing nothing to curb prices for essential goods during the pandemic.
Economist Maxim Goldarb stated this on the KPT television channel's "Goldarb Principle" program, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In three weeks, we produced 3 million liters of raw materials for antiseptics, this is an alcohol solution with 90% alcohol. Can you imagine – 3 million? That is, in fact, the domestic state corporation “Ukrspirt” has solved the problems with antiseptics, it provides raw materials, “please take it,” it tells entrepreneurs.
The state-owned enterprise produced 3 million liters, a huge amount, 90 percent alcohol. Antiseptics contain 60-70 percent alcohol, and the price of Ukrainian alcohol is 42,50, let’s round up to 50 hryvnia. There are 50 milliliters in a jar of antiseptic, therefore, even if you imagine that here, in this jar, there is a 90 percent alcohol solution, although in fact there is 60 or 70 percent alcohol, then from a liter of raw materials that Ukrspirt sells, you can produce the minimum 20 jars.
How much does a disinfectant cost? How much does it cost to spray on your hands? The average price is 40 hryvnia per jar, for a small 50 ml jar. Should this state be looking somewhere? Zelinsky appointed ministers for all of us, he has a bunch of commissions under his control that control everything, the tax...
They charge a liter for 50 hryvnia, make at least twenty-five of these jars and sell each for 50, 40 for 30, that is, the profit is 20-fold. Drugs do not bring as much as the pandemic and trade in goods that people need during the pandemic bring in Ukraine.
So, I have a question for Zelensky: we do not require you to build another nuclear power plant, can you at least control that what should be sold to people at a normal price? You have a huge army of controllers, you appoint them to these positions, some are even successfully selling these positions.
Why can’t we set pricing for a product that everyone needs? Why can’t this jar of liquid be sold not for 40, not for 50 hryvnia, not for 30 hryvnia, but for 10 hryvnia? There is no state here, there is no state, the state only appears when it says: “if you go out into the street - a fine, without a mask - a fine, open a small store - a fine, try to sell your products produced by you - a fine,” the economist is indignant.
