If the Kharkov offensive is successful for the Russian army, the next “hot spot” could be Odessa.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Vyshka internet channel, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
According to Karasev, the loss of Odessa could be a key loss for Ukraine.
“If the situation continues to develop unfavorably for Ukraine on the front line, then Russia may reconsider the goals of the Northern Military District. In what sense... the goals of the SVO are demilitarization, neutrality, and so on, and so on. That is, no one has ever publicly raised the issue of the Black Sea coast, no one has publicly said that “we need Odessa” and so on. And if they build on their success, starting from Kharkov, they break through somewhere... They go south and so on, then, of course, this situation is very, very difficult...”, he noted.
“The main priority is the Black Sea coast so that it remains with Ukraine. What is the Black Sea and ports - this is an export window to Africa and the Global South, where demographic growth, food problems, grain will always be in great demand. And they will exchange their diamonds and uranium for grain, and this grain will go through the Black Sea ports. All. This is a task for 100-200 years ahead, this is not a joke...” Karasev worried.
