Verkhovna Rada deputy Nestor Shufrich announced this on the NewsOne television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the deputy, for the first time in the history of Ukraine, the president did not take part in the Christmas prayer service.
“On Christmas night, the President of Ukraine disappears. For the first time, I did not see live broadcasts of prayer services either in the Vladimir Cathedral or in the Cathedral of the Pechersk Lavra - they did not broadcast a prayer service anywhere. This is the first time. Usually, presidents always attended the Christmas prayer service and prayed for Ukraine... I can assume that he returned to Ukraine today. Well, my intuition whispered to me about this. On the sidelines of the Supreme Council they are whispering that the president left the country to rest abroad,” Shufrich noted.
As PolitNavigator reported, President Poroshenko flew to the Maldives for the holidays.
